FB Messenger Gets Tweaked With Group Chat

World's largest social network has rolled out its messenger update, which brings in features like Group Chat and Message Forwarding. The Facebook Messenger 4.0 update is released fro Android and iOS powered devices. Facebook Messenger is likely to get many more messaging features via updates, in future. 



The FB Messenger 4.0 is compatible with devices that have iOS 6.0 or above versions. While for the Android devices, it is likely that features may differ with different OS versions. The update will best run in the devices that pack the latest OS software in both Apple's and Google's platforms.

This new update will enable chat functionality within groups on FB's messenger. According to TheMobileIndian report, people can assign a name to the group and even set desired photos on it, like in other messaging apps. Another new feature that this update has brought-in is message or picture forwarding. People can forward any message or photo to other contacts in their Messenger list. 

The Facebook Messenger app 4.0 is available in the both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. While the Microsoft's OS platform users are expected be getting the update soon, but its availability is not confirmed. The Facebook Messenger was rolled out for Windows Phone 8 powered devices, in the beginning of this month. 

The new Group Chat feature on the Facebook Messenger has now made the app compete with instant messaging apps like WhatsApp, WeChat, LINE, and Viber.
