Video Streaming Device By Amazon To Be Announced Next Week

Amazon, video streaming, Firetube, Fire OS, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Google, Android, Kindle Fire, tablets, entertainmentAmazon will reportedly planning to announce the company’s latest video-streaming device that is all set to change the way people enjoy entertainment. The world’s largest e-retailer has been inviting media for its April-first week press event, where the device is expected to be launched. Amazon’s press invite comes as a confirmation to the earlier speculations that it will be bring a new streaming device by April.



According to a Re/Code report, the company’s press invites aim at notifying the media about its video business, and the streaming device is likely to bring a new generation of living room enjoyment. The video streaming device is likely to bring strong competition to the already available Apple TV, Chromecast and Roku.

The Amazon video-streaming device, Firetube, will be powered by Fire operation system platform as the name pretty much suggests. It is the customised variant of Google’s Android that is used in Kindle Fire tablets. 

According to an Android OS report, along with streaming of content from Amazon Instant Video, Firetube will allow other open downloads. It is made compatible with third-party apps, by which you can enjoy other streaming services, as well.

As per other reports, Amazon is expected to be implementing a similar format like Chromecast that will make the device a gaming console, as well. Recently, pictures of this console were also leaked online.
