The business sector in India is fast becoming a much more important sector than it ever was. While some companies have been in the country for years on end, many global MNCs are setting up shop, recognising the country as a valuable market. Almost every one wants a piece of the action. India has come a long way over the years and is home to some of the biggest companies in the world now. Here are 10 of the most respected Indian companies.
Tata Consultancy Service (TCS): TCS has existed since 1968 and grown to be the most respected Indian country in the last 45 years. It is a division of the famed Tata Sons and has many activities overseas.

Reliance Industries: Reliance is everywhere today. Founded by the well known Dhirubhai Ambani back in the 1960s, this company has been successful in sectors like petrochemicals, retail, telecom, refining and exploration and production.

Infosys: The 32-year-old company has become one of the most successful companies in the world. It operated in 30 companies and is the second largest employed of professionals with the H-1B visa in the US.

Hindustan Unilever: Foods, beverages, cleaning agents, personal care products, this company owns some of the most recognisable brands in the country. These include CloseUp, Pepsodent, Pond’s, Sunsilk, Dove, Clinic Plus, Surf and others.


Larsen & Tourbo: Better known as L&T, This Indian MNC is the second largest company in manufacturing goods, financial services and information technology.

ICICI Bank: With Chanda Kochar as the managing director and CEO, ICICI Bank has total assets worth $124 billion and shows a net profit of $8325 billion.

State Bank of India: India’s largest commercial bank has over 29,000 employees and total assets worth #98.99 billion.

HDFC Bank: A comparatively newer company, HDFC was founded in 1994, but has grown into a powerhouse over the last 19 years.

Tata Motors: This company is operating in many different countries and is one of the biggest motor vehicle manufacturing companies in the world.

Samsung India Electronics: Samsung is the leading producer of smartphones in the world and is involved in the manufacturing and supply of a number of other electronic devices.
